Green December Day 22 - On the Go Packaging

I’ve stopped… buying on the go individual packaging.

Convenience is considered a luxury that I can be guilty of favouring but On the Go packaging often goes beyond what is necessary. I’m sure if you walked down the snacks isle in the grocery store, you would see something like this… the same product; one packaged in single packets for convenience and the other in the regular single bag/box.

Not only does it only take a couple minutes to portion out your snacks into reusable containers, buying the regular packaged products are usually cheaper per gram than the individually packaged ones.

Why

These individually packaged foods are not only a waste of excess packaging, but they are often not recyclable.
